Deebo Samuel of the 49ers is mourning the loss of friend Tommy Lister, also known as the ironic nickname of “Tiny”, was an actor and wrestler found dead Thursday from what is believed to be COVID-19 after he began experiencing symptoms.
The San Francisco 49ers wide receiver didn’t take the news of Tommy Lister’s death very well.

Deebo sprouted a friendship with Lister over the years which continued to grow.
The nickname “Deebo” actually came from Lister’s character on Friday since he was considered a “bully” when he was young.
After Samuel received the news, he took to social media to pay tribute to “Tiny.” Screenshots were taken of Samuels’ Instagram stories. Samuels’ Instagram account is 19problemz, and on the site, “stories” posted only appear for 24 hours.
Several broken heart emojis were left on one story, while another said “This crazy man frfr. Was a blessing meeting you and getting to know you fore sure. Rest up big bro” followed by a broken heart and prayer emojis.
Unbelievably, Lister’s Final Post Was About Samuels
An unbelievable fact about their relationship is Lister’s last Instagram post shows Tommy watching Samuel’s highlights. He then sent him a message on Instagram, saying, “I see you.” Then adding, “Deebo Samuels Baddest In the Game. “S/o to Deebo Samuels.”
“One of the nicest bullies we’ve come across. RIP- Deebo” The 49ers team wrote on Twitter. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the Lister family.”
Was COVID-19 the Culprit of Lister’s Death?
The 62-year-old actor started feeling sick a week ago, but his symptoms “got really bad, really quick,” his manager Cindy Cowan said. “He couldn’t breathe and felt very weak,” she said.
“It literally went so fast,” Cowan added.
Lister is best known for his roles in the hit films Friday and The Dark Night. He also spent time as a pro-wrestler in WWE and WCW. Lister played the part of Zeus in the 1989 movie No Holds Barred where he battled the pro-wrestler superstar Hulk Hogan.
