Larsa and Scottie Pippen were married for 21 years, from 1997-2018. She wasn’t Antron Pippen‘s birth mother, but Scottie’s eldest son was 10 years old when she and Scottie got married. So Larsa played a role in raising the young man.
In the wake of 33-year old Antron Pippen’s death, Larsa Pippen took to Instagram to mourn her ex-husband’s son.
“Some truths in life are hard to accept. Your memories will never be forgotten! They will always remain with us forever. You are forever in our hearts, we love u and will miss u always,” Larsa wrote on her Instagram story. “Rip Antron”
Antron Pippen was born in 1987 to Scottie Pippen and his first wife, Karen McCollum. The two were married from 1988-1990. As a result, Antron is the only child they share. After having a few more kids with two different women, Sonya Roby and Yvette De Leon, Scottie got married to Larsa Pippen in 1997.
Scottie Pippen and Larsa’s Split
Larsa and Scottie have four children together: Scotty Pippen Jr., Preston Pippen, Justin Pippen, and Sophia Pippen. They were married happily until 2016 when Scottie filed for divorce, soon after police were dispatched to the Pippen house.
The couple decided they would try to work things out, however. As a result, they withdrew the divorce papers in 2017. But in 2018, just a year later, Larsa filed for divorce. Because of this, Larsa received a fair amount of criticism and defended herself on Twitter.
“I was married to him for 20 years, I did everything for him and my family. People change and that’s what really happened,” Larsa tweeted. “Most people can’t even imagine being in a relationship for a week so I know it’s beyond imagination.”
Chicago Bulls Legend Asks Fans to Keep Family in Their Prayers
According to TMZ, Scottie sent a message, asking for support from the public.
“I’m heartbroken to share that yesterday, I said goodbye to my firstborn son Antron. The two of us shared a love for basketball and we had countless conversations about the game,” Scottie said. “Please keep his mom, Karen, and all of his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. A kind heart and beautiful soul gone way too soon. I love you, son, rest easy until we meet again.”
