Shailene Woodley describes her love with her fiancé Aaron Rodgers as simply fate. The actress recently opened up about their relationship in her interview with Shape, describing that their love was destiny.
“I have the perspective that I would have met Aaron in any context, any space in time, because I feel we were meant to be together,” she said of Rodgers, whom she began dating during the pandemic.
After several months of dating, all unbeknownst to the public, the pair became engaged in February amid the pandemic. As Woodley describes, the intense lockdown allowed the couple to go close in very little time.
“Starting a relationship where you immediately move in with someone — because it’s a pandemic and you can’t just get on a plane and go back and forth on weekends — taught us a lot about each other very quickly,” she said. “We jumped in headfirst and got some of the sticky bits out of the way early.”
While Woodley and Rodgers were quarantining in Montreal, it allowed them to form an intense closeness with one another. According to Woodley, she believes they would have ended up together no matter what.
Shailene Woodley on Relationship With Aaron Rodgers: ‘We Jumped in Headfirst’
Later, during the quarterback’s NFL MVP Award acceptance speech, Rodgers revealed to the world that he was engaged. This came just months after ending his relationship with race car driver Danica Patrick. Although he gave a special shoutout to his fiancée, he didn’t identify Woodley at the time.
Rodgers previously dated Patrick from January 2018 to July 2020. Woodley’s last romantic relationship was with rugby player Ben Volavola, whom she met in 2018. They split in 2020.
Shailene Woodley later confirmed her engagement to Rodgers weeks later during an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” Now, the pair are slowly starting to make more public appearances. They’ve taken a trip together to Disney World, the Kentucky Derby, and a couples trip to Hawaii.
Due to Rodger’s unforeseen future with the Packers, it may be possible they’re focusing on that right now instead of a wedding. As of Tuesday, the Packers don’t expect to see Rodgers on the practice field for their minicamp. This will mark the first mandatory offseason event that the Rodgers will have skipped.
