Tiger Woods’ Ex-Wife, Elin Nordegren, Spotted Watching Son Charlie at PNC Championship

by Will Shepard

Tiger Woods and his son Charlie played at the PNC Championship in mid-December. Woods and his 11-year old son showcased their premier golf talent during the event. The two had some incredibly memorable moments and wonderful shots during the championship event. However, Charlie Woods certainly stole the show.

Additionally, Tiger Woods’ ex-wife was there at the tournament watching the duo compete. Elin Nordegren, although not a professional golfer, drew plenty of attention as well.

During the tournament, Nordegren stood behind the ropes watching her son and Tiger Woods play. Additionally, their daughter was at hand watching her brother and father play.

Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren Parenting Together

As play went on throughout the days, Golf Channel analyst, Notah Begay III, talked about Nordegren. He says that her presence at her son’s golfing outings is nothing new.

Begay highlights that Tiger Woods and Nordegren work to make sure their children have good relationships with them. He also says that both of them often show up to their kids’ sporting events.

“It’s been incredible. You never know how a parent separation is going to affect the kids. Both Tiger and Elin have made it such a huge priority to protect the interests of their kids and their privacy.”

“Tiger talked about it yesterday in his post-round comments, making sure he takes the brunt of the media requests here, trying to make sure that both Sam and Charlie, from both Elin and Tiger, have a nice quality childhood like anybody else out there.”

Even though the two Woods’ didn’t win the PNC Championship, they still finished in the top ten. Instead, Justin Thomas and his father won the $200,000 first-place prize. However, Charlie and Tiger Woods are certainly a duo to keep an eye on in the future.

Justin Thomas, after the tournament, talks about how cool it was to see how good Charlie is at golf. He also made a point to make fun of his good friend, Tiger.

“We had dinner with [Tiger Woods] around the holidays, and we both wore our belts over there. It was great. We would expect them to do the same thing. And, no, I mean, Charlie just kind of laughed when he saw us, and Tiger just said, ‘You know, well done, well played.’ And you know, it was all in good fun. But they fully expected it, I think.”

Regardless of the outcome of the tournament, it is certainly evident that Elin Nordegren being at the tournament helps. Hopefully, Tiger and Nordegren keep working well together while raising stellar children. Also, look out for the Tiger Woods documentary on HBO.
