New info regarding the serious car crash Tiger Woods was in has come to light thanks to a new piece of evidence.

In an affidavit written by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Johann Schloegl, a man reportedly found Tiger Woods unconscious at the scene of the crash. While not a contradiction, his unconsciousness is a new development.

Police and first responders reported that Tiger Woods was conscious at the scene in the immediate reports and updates after the wreck. However, the affidavit states that the first person to respond was actually a nearby resident.

The man lives in a building nearby the site of the crash, and came to check out the wreck after it happened. According to ESPN‘s coverage of the report, Tiger Woods didn’t respond to the man’s questions.

Further, Carlos Gonzalez, the first deputy on the scene, reported that Woods was able to converse.

The new info is due to a probable cause statement. A warrant was filed for the SUV that Tiger Woods was driving, in order to get a “black box”. This would allow investigators to get a better idea of how the wreck happened.

Woods reportedly said that he doesn’t remember driving and had no idea how the crash happened.

After the crash, Woods required major surgery. Suffering shattered tibia and fibula bones in his right leg, Woods required extensive work.

Tiger Woods Responds to PGA Tour Tribute

While details continue to come out about the crash, much of the sporting world is expressing their concern and hope for Tiger Woods.

Arguably the greatest golfer to ever play the sport, Woods’ impact on the game of golf is immeasurable. This is why so many members of the PGA Tour wore the 45-year-old’s iconic red and black colors on Sunday of the WGC-Workday Championship.

For many of the tour’s top players today, like Justin Thomas, Rory McIlroy and Patrick Reed, Woods was the star of the game in their childhoods. With the level of influence he has had on the generations since his pro debut in the 1990s, it’s no surprise how big the effort was.

After seeing various players adorned in red and black, Tiger took to Twitter to share thanks.

“It is hard to explain how touching today was when I turned on the tv and saw all the red shirts. To every golfer and every fan, you are truly helping me get through this tough time.”

It was a touching display to say the least. One of the tour’s younger rising stars, Tony Finau, was asked about the gesture in his post-tournament press conference.

“Red and black, we know that’s what Tiger does on Sundays,” Finau said. “So just to join in and just let Tiger know we’re supporting him in the best way we can. We’re still playing and we miss him out here, but it was cool just to be a part of that.”
