Going into next weekend’s matchup between the New Orleans Saints and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, quarterbacks Drew Brees and Tom Brady will be 42 and 43 years old. Brees’ Saints and Brady’s Buccaneers matched up twice during the regular season. The Saints won both regular-season games, however, Tom Brady has some of the best postseason statistics in the NFL.

Ahead of the matchup, Tom Brady reposted a hilarious meme on Twitter poking fun at the quarterbacks’ age. This year marks the first year that five quarterbacks 37 years or older will play in the playoffs. Beyond that, Tom Brady and Drew Brees are the two oldest of those five. The five quarterbacks include Ben Roethlisberger (38), Phillip Rivers (39), Aaron Rodgers (37), Brees, and Brady.

“Every future Tom Brady game should be on the History Channel,” the meme reads. It also calls Brady the goat.

Drew Brees Says Tom Brady Playoff Matchup “Inevitable”

Tom Brady signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers over the 2020 off-season. As soon as he signed, everyone knew that it would result automatically in two games between the future hall-of-Famers. Drew Brees not only noticed the implications of this signing but welcomed the opportunity.

“Yeah, don’t take it for granted,” Brees said in his postgame press conference. “I’m very appreciative of the opportunity. And listen, the minute that [Tom Brady] signed with the Bucs and came in the division, you felt like that was going to be a team to contend with, that was going to be a team that had playoff aspirations and beyond, just like us. So, I guess it was inevitable.”
