Tampa Bay Bucs quarterback Tom Brady has had an incredible career, but on Monday Night Football he did something he has never done. The future NFL Hall-of-Famer threw two forward passes on the same play. Though two forward passes on the same play is a penalty — it was still a sight to see for football fans.

The bizarre play came near the beginning of the fourth quarter with Brady’s Tampa Bay Bucs down seven points to the Los Angeles Rams. Brady takes the snap from center and immediately throws a quick hitch in the direction of receiver Mike Evans. Rams defensive end Terrell Lewis, a rookie from Alabama, is able to jump up and block the pass. Lewis knocks the pass directly back to Brady, who reloads and again throws the ball to Evans, this time completing the pass to his receiver target.

While the play was spectacular to see, it was all for not as the Bucs were assessed a penalty. The Rams declined the penalty and would go on to win the game by a final score of 27-24.

Tom Brady Double Pass Sparks Social Media Talk

While the game was exciting and came down to the wire, Brady’s double pass was the talk of social media after the game.

“That’s impressive,” one Twitter user writes.

“The GOAT of throwing one pass per play AND two passes per play,” another fan says.
