Tyson Fury Asks for Prayers as Daughter Athena is in ICU

On Sunday (August 8th) British professional boxer Tyson Fury took to his social media accounts to ask for his followers to pray for his newborn daughter, Athena, as she was recently placed in the ICU.

“Please can everyone pray for my baby girl who was born this morning. Athena Fury born 8/8/21,” Tyson Fury writes. He also shares in an Instagram Story that Athena is in a stable position and doing well. “Hopefully she comes out [of] ICU today.”

Tyson Fury then reveals that his wife, Paris is doing great. He did not disclose why Athena was placed in the ICU. Athena is reportedly Tyson and Paris’ sixth child.

Tyson Fury also revealed how he and his family had handled the COVID-19 lockdowns. “As a family, this has been good for us,” the boxer told ESPN. “We can take positives out of any negative situation because you get to spend a lot of time with each other. 

The boxer also says that he and his family have done a lot of training workouts together. “It’s grown the family closer,” Tyson Fury admits. “I’m not really interested in boxing right now because the most important thing is staying alive.”

Tyson Fury does think that the pandemic is bigger than him as well as boxing and sports. “So when that gets back right, again, then we’ll talk about entertaining the customers and the fans.”

Tyson then reveals he’s planning to continue fighting until he turns 40. “I’ve been thinking about and there isn’t much else to do anyway. So yeah, I may as well keep fighting,” Fury shares with the media outlet. “I don’t see anyone out there that can challenge me.”

Fury also says he already flattened the best one out there. “The toughest opponent out there is Deontay Wilder, and we all saw what happened to him the last time out.”

Fury is currently preparing for his fight against Wilder, which will take place on October 9th. The match has been rescheduled a couple of times due to COVID-19 concerns. Fury tells the Daily Mail, “The only people whose movements I couldn’t completely control were my sparring partners, who change. They came in and out of the bubble and everyone knows this town is full of COVID. I suspect we caught it from one of them. “
