It wouldn’t be a UFC event if there weren’t at least a few celebrities in attendance. UFC 264 will feature a former president sitting octagon-side.
That’s right — former President Donald Trump will make the trip to T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday to catch the rubber match between “The Notorious” Conor McGregor and Dustin “The Diamond” Poirier. Saturday’s fight will be the second that Trump has attended in recent years. He attended UFC 244 at Madison Square Garden in 2019, making him the first sitting or former president to attend a mixed martial arts fight.
But Saturday’s public appearance will be one of Trump’s first since he left office. UFC President Dana White confirmed the news to TMZ on Friday that the former President would be at UFC 246. White, of course, is a well-known proponent of Donald Trump. He said that Trump wasn’t going to be “hiding in a box somewhere. That’s not his style.” Instead, Trump will have floor seats right behind Dana White.
In addition to Trump, there will be several other celebrities making an appearance at UFC 264. Some of those will include Justin Bieber, Dave Chappelle, Kevin Durant, Odell Beckham Jr., Machine Gun Kelly, Megan Fox, Mel Gibson, Kourtney Kardashian, and Travis Barker.
How Much Money Will McGregor, Poirier Make at UFC 246?
As always with a high-profile fight on the horizon, there will be more than just bragging rights at stake. Conor McGregor, the former division champ, and Dustin Poirier, the lightweight division’s top contender, will square off at UFC 264 for what will likely be the final time.
As UFC fans likely know by now, the series between McGregor and Poirier dates back to 2014 and features TKO victories by both fighters. And while both of them would love to take the final victory, they know at the end of the day there’s a nice payday waiting for them. It might not be title fight type money, but it should still be significant.
We won’t know exactly how much each fighter makes until after UFC 264 is all said and done. But we can gain some insight from the previous match between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 at Fight Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
According to SPORTBible, Conor McGregor went home with $3.04 million after that bout — $3 million to show up and another $40,000 in sponsorship bonuses. He was, after all, the headliner in the fight. As for Dustin Poirier, he made $830,000 — $750,000 to show up, a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus, and $30,000 in sponsorship bonuses.
Since Saturday’s UFC 246 fight won’t include a title fight on the line, much like the last time McGregor and Poirier squared off, it seems likely that the payouts will be similar for both fighters.
