UFC: Nate Diaz Responds to Dustin Poirier’s NSFW Video with Intense Warning

UFC star Nate Diaz took to social media recently to respond to top lightweight contender Dustin Poirier’s callout with an intense response.

Poirier is fresh off of his impressive knockout win over Conor McGregor at UFC 257 a few weeks ago. Now he is looking ahead to future challenges. While, of course, a Lightweight title fight is his top priority, Poirier seems interested in taking part in other big fights, including a fight against Nate Diaz.

On Tuesday, Diaz posted an NSFW (not safe for work) video from 2019 of Poirier showing him saying, “Talking all that s*** about steroids. F*** you, Nate.” It seems like the Louisana native is Diaz’ primary target.

Diaz responded on Twitter by saying, “Those are fighting words tho. So f*** a weight class.”

The two UFC stars were set to throw down at UFC 230 back in 2018. However, the bout was canceled after Poirier was forced out with an injury. Unfortunately for UFC fans, the fight was never booked again. The two men have since been left with an increased desire to settle their differences inside the cage.

Diaz hasn’t competed since losing to Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244 in November of 2019. With that said, if he is able to book a fight against Poirier, it would be a great opportunity for him to get back in the win column against the UFC’s top-ranked Lightweight.

Conor McGregor Has Interest in Trilogy with Nate Diaz and Dustin Poirier

Ever since the former two-division champ lost to Poirier at UFC 257, Nate Diaz has been touted as the logical man next up. Conor McGregor has expressed equal interest in a trilogy fight with Diaz or with Poirier. Two of the stars, McGregor and Diaz, have fought twice at 170 pounds. They split the pair of bouts, which were two of the biggest blockbusters in the promotion’s history.

“I think they’re both pretty big,” McGregor said. “Two southpaws as well, which is interesting. They’re both there, so we’ll see what happens.”

As for former NBA star Shaquille O’Neal, he wants to see round three between McGregor and Diaz. He says, “I would like to see Conor fight my guy Nate Diaz.”

Back in 2016, McGregor took on Nate Diaz for the first time. With four minutes left in the second round, Diaz beat McGregor by submission.

The two welterweights followed that up soon after with a rematch. After five rounds, it came down to the judge’s decision, who voted in favor of Notorious.

Either way, it seems like we will be getting some kind of matchup between Diaz-Poirier, Diaz-McGregor, or Poirier-McGregor. And all of those sound just as exciting.

There’s also been rumors about a potential matchup between Diaz and Jake Paul.
