Just two months after a horrific ATV crash, doctors cleared Randy Couture to train. The UFC star seriously injured himself in the crash, resulting in a surgery that placed two plates in his shoulder. The crash involved both Couture and his wife, Mindy Robinson. The crash occurred on September 7 on Couture’s ranch in Flagstaff, Arizona. Mindy came out relatively unharmed from the incident but suffered some minor injuries.

The couple was able to make their way home after the injury despite being on a rural, private road. Upon their return, they assessed the injuries and decided Couture needed medical attention. Doctors treated him for rib and shoulder injuries upon arrival. He underwent surgery a couple of days later, expecting to make a full recovery.

He surely did make a full recovery as doctors cleared him to train again just two months later. This kind of ridiculous recovery feels on par for Randy Couture as he walked to the hospital after a heart attack in October of 2019, and walked home once discharged.

“Everything’s great, no issues,” Couture told TMZ. “The ribs actually healed up a lot faster than I remember them healing last time.” About the shoulder surgery, he said, “the shoulder was fine, they plated the shoulder, I got full range of motion.” For now, Couture will do some light training until he feels his ribs are fully healed, at which point he will return to his full workout routine.

Most consider Randy Couture as one of the best fighters in UFC history. His legendary achievements in the ring match his unbelievable feats outside of wrestling. This inhuman recovery counts as one of those feats along with his heart attack story. We hope to see Couture make his return to the ring as quickly as he made his recovery from the accident.
