WATCH: Aaron Rodgers Surprises Davante Adams with News of Making Madden ‘99 Club’

by Thad Mitchell

Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams form one of the most lethal duos the National Football League has ever seen.

The Green Bay Packers are one of the teams to beat in the NFL this year and have Rodgers and Adams to thank. Both players are uniquely talented in their own right, but together they make the Packers’ offense one of the league’s best.

Rodgers, the Packer’s star quarterback, is a candidate to be the league’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) frontrunner. At 37-years-old, Rodgers is having one of the best seasons of his career. He is completing more than 70 percent of his passes and is over the 4,000 yards passing mark with still one game to go. He has thrown 44 touchdowns to just four interceptions and has a ridiculous 119.4 total quarterback rating.

Not to be outdone is Rodgers’ favorite target in wide receiver Davante Adams. The 28-year-old is putting together one of the best pass catching seasons in NFL history. On the year he has 109 catches for 1,328 yards and 17 touchdowns. Some suggest Adams may be Rodgers’ primary competition for the coveted MVP award.

Aaron Rodgers gives Davante Adams Good News

While Adams is a candidate for NFL honors this year, it is another prestigious award that he recently took. And who better to present him with the honor than his All-Pro quarterback. The moment was recorded and put on social media for NFL fans to witness and enjoy. On the final day of 2020, Adams became the newest member of the “Madden 99 Club.”

According to makers of the Madden game franchise, the club is for the most elite players in the NFL.

In the Madden football video game series, a “99” is the highest rating that a player can achieve. Adams joins an elite rank of NFL players to achieve the 99 score status. Aaron Donald, Patrick Mahomes and fellow wide out DeAndre Hopkins are a few of the other players to join the club in recent years.
