WATCH: Brad Paisley Narrates Cleveland Browns Hype Video Ahead of Return to Playoffs

by Quentin Blount

Country music star and Cleveland Browns fan Brad Paisley recently posted a Browns hype video on social media in which he narrates.

The Browns finally ended the NFL’s longest active playoff drought with a dramatic 24-22 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the regular-season finale last week at FirstEnergy Stadium. With the win, the Browns were able to clinch their first playoff berth since 2002. They had gone 17 seasons without a playoff appearance.

“17 seasons, man that’s a long time to wait,” Paisley says in the hype video posted to Instagram. “So can we just enjoy this for a minute?” Players can be heard in the background of the video yelling “We’re in the playoffs, baby!” and “Woooohoooo! I’m so happy right now!”

Paisley captions the video, “Them’s Fightin’ words…by yours truly…let’s go!!!! #browns.”

“This season we’ve learned that even when good things happen, reality seems to always be right around the corner,” Paisley mentions in reference to the Browns’ recent positive COVID-19 cases. The team’s head coach Kevin Stefanski was among them.

Stefanski was quickly ruled out for Cleveland’s playoff opener. The same went for tight ends coach Drew Petzing and defensive backs coach Jeff Howard.

The virus also made its way into the locker room and forced the Browns to send wide receiver KhaDarel Hodge, and cornerbacks Denzel Ward and Kevin Johnson to the Reserve/Covid-19 list. Also on that list is veteran guard Joel Bitonio.

Brad Paisley Says ‘Browns Are Due for a Win’ at Heinz Field

The Browns’ last playoff game took place on January 5, 2003. It’s fitting that the game was also against Pittsburgh Steelers and ended in a 36-33 wild-card loss. Following that loss, Cleveland went through a treacherous stretch of 90-197-1. In fact, the team suffered 14 double-digit loss seasons during the span.

The Browns (11-5) and Steelers (12-4) are playing again tonight in this weekend’s wild-card round at Pittsburgh. And Paisley may have been onto something in his hype video. He said that the Browns are due for a win at Heinz Field. They are currently winning 28-0 with a little more than four minutes left in the first half.

Similar to Cleveland’s 17-year playoff drought, they also haven’t beat the Steelers at Heniz Field in 17 years.

“I think the Browns are due in this building. 17 consecutive visits and not a smiling dog to be seen,” Paisley exclaims. “History? Past glory? Playoff experience? Sure it’s daunting, but it ain’t everything. Because you can be happy to be here, and just as hungry to stay. Let’s go!”
