On Saturday morning, college football fans amusingly trolled actor Ashton Kutcher previous to his appearance on ESPN’s College GameDay.

Each week, the College GameDay crew welcomes a special guest to their college football pre-game talk show. It may be a famous musician, a movie or television star, or well-known athletes. For today’s guest host, Kutcher joined the sports show to talk about today’s huge rivalry game.

The former That ’70s Show star grew up in Iowa and went to the University of Iowa for college. The university is a big-time football school with an in-state rivalry game that kicks off at 4:30 p.m. later today. Even though Kutcher didn’t graduate from UI, it’s a given he’ll be rooting for #10 Iowa when they face #9 Iowa State this afternoon.

In fact, the College GameDay crew traveled to Ames, Iowa – home of the Iowa State Cyclones – for today’s game. This is the highest Iowa State has been ranked in years. Additionally, they’ll be looking to put an end to the Hawkeyes’ five-game win streak in their rivalry series. Historically, Iowa has dominated the team’s head-to-head matchups through the years. The Hawkeyes have a 45-19 series advantage in the rivalry, so Iowa State will look to turn things around with their performance today.

As Kutcher arrived by plane in Ames earlier today, he was met with a shower of boos from Cyclones fans. They know the actor and his ties to Iowa well, so they hilariously let him hear it, which College GameDay posted on Twitter.
