WATCH: Conor McGregor Talks with Stephen A. Smith, Guarantees a Knockout Against Dustin Poirier

Put a microphone in front of Conor McGregor and he’ll hype up anything with his name on it, especially an upcoming fight with Dustin Poirier.

McGregor took time out from preparing for Saturday night’s UFC 257 headline featherweight fight against Poirier to chat it up with ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith on his “Stephen A’s World” show.

“Do you feel that you have to win this fight in a very big, dramatic fashion?” Smith asks. “It can’t be a decision. It has to be typical KO fashion from the man that’s got 19 knockouts in his UFC career, which would be you.

“Does it have to end in spectacular fashion?” Smith asks.

“There you go, Stephen, it’s all I know, it’s all I do is put people out and I’m going to do so again on Saturday night,” McGregor said.

“Mark my words.”

Conor McGregor Says He Retired Out Of Frustration

Smith then asks McGregor about the possibility of him retiring again after his fight with Poirier. McGregor has retired twice before from the UFC.

“I’ve retired out of frustration, you know what I mean?” McGregor said. “I couldn’t get my belts and it was like, ‘You know, you’re not going to treat me with respect, I’m gone.’

“You know, sometimes you have to take yourself out of a situation if you’re not being respected or appreciated,” he told Smith, “and distance yourself from it.”

Take a listen to a couple of minutes of McGregor chatting with Smith.

McGregor, Dee Delvin Say They Are Expecting Third Child

Back in December, McGregor and his fiancee, Dee Delvin, shared the news about Delvin being pregnant with their third child.

The UFC fighter posted a picture on Instagram of his family wearing matching pajamas in front of their Christmas tree. Their oldest child, Conor Jack Jr,, holds up an image of Delvin’s ultrasound. Also pictured is the couple’s second child, Croia, who turns two in January, and their dog, Hugo.

Conor McGregor popped the question to his long-time lover back in August, just days before Delvin’s birthday. He shared the news in an Instagram post, similar to the one with his third child. “What a birthday, my future wife,” he said in the caption.

The two have not yet announced wedding plans, but with two children and a third on the way, it hardly matters.

McGregor, Delvin Have Quite A Love Story

The adorable couple has been dating for over a decade at this point, falling in love back in Conor’s home in Dublin. They met for the first time in a night club, and after chatting it up, both felt a spark.

Of course, at the time, McGregor had not become the global MMA superstar. When Delvin met him, McGregor was nothing more than a humble plumber with dreams of fighting on a bigger scale.

Throughout his journey, Dee supported Conor McGregor both emotionally and financially. That is, of course, until McGregor made enough for her to quit her job and for them to travel the world and start a family together.
