Hoping to improve upon last season’s losing record, the Philadelphia Eagles are weeks into their annual training camp.
As it is with every other team in the National Football League, the Philadelphia Eagles hold a team meeting for the players to get acquainted. Young players are also expected to show off hidden talents that they may or may not have. Team rookies may be required by veteran players to entertain them by singing in front of the whole team. It isn’t the singing that entertains, it is the instant embarrassment that the young players feel that provides entertainment. The Philadelphia Eagles recently held their annual team meeting, and a young player told he must sing in front of the team made a big impression.
Jordan Mailata, who plays along the offensive line for the Philadelphia Eagles, is among the biggest player in the entire NFL. He stands 6’8″ and weighs in excess of 360 pounds, yet has the quickness and foot speed of a cat. It also turns out that Mailata has some nice pipes and is more than willing to put on a show when called on to sing. The big guy, who is now in his third year with the Philadelphia Eagles, chose the Chris Stapleton classic “Tennessee Whiskey” as his performance tune. What happens next — well, you need to see it for yourself. Check out the video right here:
Eagles Cheer on Their Singing Left Tackle
It’s clear to see that not only has a talent for putting NFL defenders on their backs, he also has the voice of an angel. A few of his Philadelphia Eagles teammates even joined in on the chorus of the hit country song. It isn’t even the first time that Mailata has put on a musical performance for his teammates and media members. In his rookie season, the big guy even brought his guitar into the team’s locker room for a performance. He says it was his way of introducing himself to his team and coaches along with area reporters.
During his most recent performance, Many of Mailata’s teammates can be heard cheering him and applauding his talent. It isn’t likely to be the final singing performance for the Philadelphia Eagle offensive tackle. The Australian native has a personality that is every bit as big as he is. He is often cordial and very talkative with the media during his press conference sessions. He is loved by his teammates and Philadelphia Eagles fans for his candor and outgoing personality.
Jordan Mailata is quite the success story when it comes to professional football. He was drafted by the Eagles in the seventh round of the 2017 draft despite having never played a down of football in his life.
The big offensive lineman is on pace to start at left tackle this season for the Philadelphia Eagles.
