WATCH: Mizzou Head Coach Completely Owns Florida’s Dan Mullen in Post-Game Presser

Mizzou just took down Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators. Afterward, Eli Drinkwitz used the press conference to get back at Mullen for last year.

During last season, the Gators took down the Tigers. During the press conference, Mullen decided to wear a Darth Vader costume in the press conference. Apparently, Coach Drinkwitz does not forget easily. It was a close game that the Tigers pulled out 24-23. It also made Mizzou bowl eligible. I guess the coach was feeling a little swaggy after the big win.

And of course, for posterity’s sake, here is the image from last year when Mullen donned his costume.

Last year, to be fair to Mullen, the two teams played on Halloween. However, after taking down the Tigers 41-17, it was maybe not the best look for the head coach to take. Now, this season, things seem to have turned upside down for Mullen and the Gators. When you do silly stuff, expect to get it back in return.

While Drinkwitz didn’t have the costume on hand, his black hoodie and tiny lightsaber were enough to get the point across. These programs are in different directions right now. Florida is not the Florida it used to be. However, Missouri is starting to turn a corner it seems. If Drinkwitz can keep his team focused, they could come away with 8 wins this season. As for Florida, the Gators are hoping to get bowl eligible against in-state rival Florida State.

Mizzou Edges Florida in Overtime Behind Tyler Badie

Running back Tyler Badie has controlled the Mizzou offense this year. He has been such a resource for the team the last few years. One of the best RBs in the SEC, Badie was able to get 27 carries tonight. Along with a solid night from Connor Bazelak, the two were able to do just enough to get their team the win.

On the night, Badie finished with 146 yards and got into the endzone one time. That was good enough for a 5.4 yard average on each run. His friend in the backfield was slinging the ball just well enough to keep Mizzou afloat. By the time it was all said and done the QB had a night of 15/26 for 165 yards and a touchdown. The thing is he didn’t throw an interception and the lack of mistakes made sure his team was able to stay in the game long-term.

As usual, Emory Jones was the do it all man for Florida. He finished the day 20/32 through the air for 261 yards. However, it was Trent Whittemore that threw the Gators’ only receiving touchdown. That touchdown went to Jones, by the way. On the ground, Jones led the Gators as well with 45 yards on 17 carries. Dameon Pierce scored a rushing TD. However, it wasn’t enough to stop Mizzou in overtime. The two-point conversion risk paid off and the Tigers walked away victorious.
