For many people, Memorial Day weekend is considered the unofficial start of summer. It’s also a great excuse to fire up the grill and spend some time outside or go camping. However, come this time of year, motorsports fans are ready to hear the rumbling of engines and see the favorite drivers tearing around the track.

But there is much more to consider. Memorial Day weekend is a time to reflect and thank all of the fallen veterans who put their lives on the line to protect our country. And this year’s annual Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Speedway started off with a beautiful tribute to those who sacrificed it all.

The NASCAR organization put together an incredible bagpipe performance of “Amazing Grace” to kick things off. You can have a listen to the beautiful sounds for yourself by clicking down below:

“For those who sacrificed it all for the Red, White and Blue … … Today when we race, we race for you. 🇺🇸” the official NASCAR Twitter account wrote alongside a short clip.
