WATCH: NBA Legend Tim Duncan Taking Up Kickboxing

Tim Duncan is one of the greatest basketball players to ever step on a court, according to most. Now 44-years-old, the NBA Hall-of-Famer is looking at taking up a new sport in his pursuit of competition.

Since retiring, Duncan has taken up the sport of kickboxing according to various media reports. It is scary to think that a nearly 7-feet tall super athlete is now kickboxing. It isn’t known if Duncan will actually compete in kickboxing but he seems to be having a blast doing it.

Video of Duncan participating in a kickboxing workout recently made the rounds on social media. While he is still in novice stage of the sport, he certainly seems like he will be able to hold his own should a fight breaks out.

“NBA legend Tim Duncan is taking up kickboxing,” the tweet from DAZN Boxing proclaims.

Tim Duncan Could Make For Unstoppable Kickboxer

While he is going against a man much shorter than he is, it is easy to see why Duncan would create fear if he steps into the ring. With an unearthly wingspan, Duncan would be also able to strike an opponent from the other side of the ring. Imagine squaring off against someone who is considered the greatest power forward in NBA history. It isn’t likely you would be able to get many punches or kicks in against someone of Duncan’s stature.

While he could probably pursue a fighting career to a great deal of success, Duncan is also known as a “gentle giant.” Other former professional athletes like Herschel Walker and Greg Hardy have attempted careers in the square circle to varying levels of success. The “Big Fundamental,” as he is known in basketballs circles, is likely just looking for a way to stay in shape.

The now 44-year-old spent his entire 19-year NBA career with the San Antonio Spurs before retiring in 2016.
