Taysom Hill is going to start Sunday’s game for the New Orleans Saints at quarterback with Drew Brees sidelined. As NFL players are want to do, Hill posts a hype video about his first career NFL start to Instagram.

However, there are lots of jokes at Hill’s expense for being chosen to replace Brees. All that said though, Hill is certainly excited for the game, and he took to Instagram to share that elation.

In what can be only be described as a tribute to his college days, the video is about how excited he is to be one of the 32 NFL quarterbacks slated to start this week. Also, he posts a heartfelt caption to go along with the post.

“We can’t control what life brings, we can only control how we respond to it. My journey to the NFL has had the highs, the lows, and everything in between – and I’m grateful for all of it.”

Hill talks about how his journey to the NFL has not been conventional. He’s been classified as undersized and not skilled enough to play quarterback at the highest level. But none of that has ever stopped him from succeeding.

Hill adds that he would like people to watch the rest of the video as it cuts off mid-sentence.

Taysom Hill First Career NFL Start

Unless Hill absolutely crushes it on Sunday (Nov. 22), he is definitely not secure as the starting quarterback. Sean Payton says that there are not going to be any double quarterback sets this week. However, it could likely be that Jameis Winston comes in to replace Hill at quarterback during the game.

Taysom Hill, over his 46 career games in the NFL, has thrown ten complete passes out of 18 attempts for 205 yards. He has thrown no touchdowns but counters that with one interception.

Even though Twitter is having a field day with the news that Taysom Hill is starting over Winston, the Saints remain confident.

To be sure, the Saints are playing the struggling Atlanta Falcons this week. So, if he can’t win the game with his skill alone, Atlanta will most likely lose the game all on their own.
