Olympic gold medalist Caeleb Dressel is an incredibly impressive swimmer, but his dog is giving him a run for his money. In an incredible clip, Caeleb Dressel’s black lab, Jane, swims like a true Olympian. If there was a dog Olympics, she’d definitely be a top competitor.

Caeleb Dressel took home a shocking five gold medals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The 24-year-old son of a veterinarian drew international attention with his swimming talents. And while the Olympics were no doubt a highlight of his life, he even mentioned missing his dog in one of his post-win interviews.

He’s somehow passed that swimming talent down to Jane. The dog even has a great start.

“Someone check the time to 25, she’s built to float not for speed,” Caeleb Dessel wrote in the caption.

Fans and teammates were quick to comment on Jane’s Olympic-level talent.

Team USA swimmer Bobby Finke even wrote that her “start is still better than mine.”

Dressel Defended Fellow Olympian Simone Biles after Her Decision to Withdrawal

One of the biggest moments of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics didn’t even happen during the competition. Simone Biles shocked the world when she withdrew from the majority of the games due to a potentially lethal mental block. While some athletes were understanding, others felt the need to express their disdain for the young athlete.

But on top of knowing how to be a good dog Dad, Dressel also knew that not everyone has to have a say when it comes to someone else’s personal life.

“Every individual is different,” Dressel told TODAY. “That’s why I’m not going to speak on anyone else’s behalf. That’s why I’m okay with the call that Simone did. No one else’s opinion matters because they’re not the one in her situation. She’s literally the best to ever do it, and everyone wants to chime in. Just leave her alone.”

Many have commended Caeleb Dressel on his grace and sportsmanship that he clearly exemplified throughout the games. But with his gold medals, he’s not just a good sport, but a fantastic competitor. He also recognizes that a ton of pressure is put on Olympians.

When Dealing with Stress, Caeleb Dressel has the Help of an Olympic Legend

With the number of medals he won this year, he’s being compared to swimming legend Michael Phelps. Interestingly, Phelps has acted as a sort of mentor to Caeleb Dressel for both swimming tips and mental health tips. Dressel admitted that the experience of being an Olympian can sometimes feel like it’s “too much.”

“I’ve had a couple of breakdowns. It does pile up,” he said. Nobody could really understand Olympic stress quite like an Olympian.

“I texted [Phelps] more than my wife at these Games,” Dressel said. “I really leaned on him. And why would I not?”

Thankfully, Caeleb Dressel has plenty of time to recharge and destress with his dog and family. Should he choose to compete in another Olympic games, he’s sure to have fans cheering him on from the sidelines.
