WATCH: Saquon Barkley is a Smart Man, Accepts Free Chicken Tender from Fan While Attending Penn State Game

Is there anything in the world that is better than chicken tenders? The answer to that question is yes. Free chicken tenders. Just ask Saquon Barkley.

On Saturday night, New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley made his return to Happy Valley. He watched his No. 10 Nittany Lions pull out a 28-20 victory against the No. 22 Auburn Tigers. Barkley became a household name at Penn State University while playing for the team from 2015-2017. During his time, he set school records for career rushing touchdowns (43) and total touchdowns (53). His incredible collegiate career led to him becoming the No. 2 overall selection in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Now, Barkley was a busy man during his return to Beaver Stadium. Taking a private jet back to campus, it’s safe to say that he arrived back at his alma mater in style. He even went on College GameDay and made his picks for the weekend’s slate of games across the country. Obviously, when it came to picking the Penn State versus Auburn game, that was pretty much a no-brainer.

However, the star running back did more than just pick games. Barkley was on the sideline during his former team’s ranked matchup with Auburn. As a matter of fact, at one point, Barkley went up to the stands to show the fans some love. That’s when he was offered some free chicken tenders. So, what did he do? He must have been pretty hungry because he gladly accepted the offer and even dipped the chicken into the fan’s barbeque sauce.

The official Bleacher Report Twitter account posted a clip of the exchange online.

“Saquon copped a free chicken tender from a Penn State fan on Saturday.”

Football Fans Respond to Saquon Barkley Chicken Tender Moment

It’s not every day you see a star running back in the NFL back at his former college. Usually, Saturdays for an NFL player are for walkthroughs and game planning. But Barkley and his New York Giants had just lost a close game to the Washington Football Team on Thursday night. So, he was not playing on Sunday. That gave him some extra free time to head down to Penn State.

One fantasy football player couldn’t help but post a comment with their thoughts. He wasn’t interested in Barkley getting his hands on some free chicken. Instead, he was a little salty about the star running back getting him less than 10 points for the second week in a row.

“Also copped me a whopping 8.9 fantasy points.”

Other fans were more supportive of Barkley. One person commented saying, “The people’s running back.”

Meanwhile, another group of fans had some concerns about Barkley getting COVID-19 from the interaction. They left replies like, “COVID alert, COVID alert” and “Yeah, he sitting out next week.”
