Tampa Bay quarterback Tom Brady has suffered ups and downs in his first season with the team. After Sunday’s game, he was very happy.
The Buccaneers posted a 26-14 victory over the visiting Minnesota Vikings at Raymond James Stadium. After the game, Brady posted a short video on Twitter with some game highlights included.
The NFC win puts Tampa Bay at 8-5 for the season, setting the team up to make a run and get into the NFL postseason playoffs.
Brady completed 15 of 23 passes for 196 yards and two touchdowns without an interception. He hit his old New England Patriot teammate Rob Gronkowski for a 2-yard touchdown pass and Scott Miller on a 48-yard score.
Tampa Bay has put itself in a solid position to potentially win out the rest of its regular-season games. Next Sunday, the Buccaneers host the Atlanta Falcons, then travel to Detroit and play the Lions. Tampa Bay finishes up on the road in Atlanta. Both Atlanta and Detroit are below .500 this season.
Tom Brady and Bruce Arians Have Golf Date Nixed By NFL
This NFL season is the first one Brady has ever played for another coach than New England’s Bill Belichick. He and Buccaneers Head Coach Bruce Arians have not always seen eye to eye about Brady’s on-field performances.
Both Brady and Arians had made plans to play golf together during the Bucs’ off week, but the National Football League said no.
But the NFL prohibited the two from playing golf together due to COVID-19 regulations. This isn’t the first time Brady disregarded NFL regulations. Previously, he worked out in a public park earlier this year. Instead, Brady spent this week reviewing some game film.
Back in November, though, Brady agreed with Arians’ less-than-stellar assessment of Tampa Bay’s offensive play.
“Our job is to get the job done, so there’s no excuses for when we don’t get it done. At the end of the day, that’s the reality of the sport,” Brady said. “It’s a production-based business, and when you have opportunities like we had in those two games, it’s very disappointing when you don’t [succeed]. Especially when you’re the quarterback and the ball is in your hands. It’s something I have to do a better job of.”
