WATCH: Terry Bradshaw Tells Hilarious Story About Telling His Dad About Retiring From NFL

Earlier today, the Kelly Clarkson Show Instagram account shared a hilarious clip of NFL legend Terry Bradshaw talking about his retirement from the NFL. In the clip, Bradshaw tells Kelly Clarkson about telling his dad about his retirement. He jokingly talked about the freedom he felt from being away from the public eye. He told his father, “Now I can be honest!” Bradshaw goes on to discuss the extension of that freedom that comes with age. “Now that I’m 72, I can say whatever I want. Because why? Because I’m old!” the former Steelers quarterback joked.

It looks like Terry Bradshaw had a great time during his visit to the Kelly Clarkson Show. He and host Kelly Clarkson shards some great laughs in the clip.

Terry Bradshaw Is Multi-Talented

Terry Bradshaw’s NFL career is the stuff of legends. Whit he was quarterback, the team won four Super Bowls in six years. He was the first quarterback in the NFL to win three and four Super Bowl titles. The guy had an arm like a cannon. In short, Bradshaw was a force to be reckoned with on the field. He retired from the NFL in 1984.

Many younger sports fans will be more familiar with Terry Bradshaw’s broadcast career. He has been a sportscaster and analyst since the year he retired. His voice is familiar to just about anyone who has ever watched an NFL game.

Still, other fans may recognize Bradshaw from his various TV and film appearances. He has appeared in several commercials and TV shows. You can see him in classics like “Cannonball Run” and “The Adventures of Brisco Country, Jr.” and he had a role in the 2006 film “Failure to Launch.”

What may surprise many fans of both country music and the NFL is that Terry Bradshaw has five albums. This includes one Christmas album. His first album is titled “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry” and features Bradshaw’s cover of the Hank Williams classic.

Even more surprisingly, the album came out while he was still in the NFL. In fact, it dropped in 1976, the year after he earned his second Super Bowl ring. The real kicker here is how great his voice is. Terry Bradshaw may not nail Ol’ Hanks’ yodel, but not many can. Bradshaw delivers a soulful performance on one of country music’s most legendary songs.
