If you’re going to, unfortunately, take part in some grand theft auto, maybe don’t choose the car that belongs to a UFC fighter.

Jordan Williams was forced to put his UFC fighting skills to use when a carjacker zeroed in on his car. The UFC fighter had left his car running while he was inside a gas station buying some snacks and a drink in Denver, Colorado. While he was doing so, a man suddenly appeared and slowly climbed into the driver’s seat and began to back away.

It was at this moment that Williams ran out of the gas station and approached his fleeing car. The 30-year-old quickly yanked the driver’s door open and began to violently punch the attempted thief. He then tossed him out of the car and even threw in some UFC-worthy knee jabs as well.

It all worked. The almost-car-thief quickly ran away while holding his head in pain.

“At first I couldn’t really believe it. And then I was like, ‘Holy s–t, there’s someone really in my car. I opened the door and, it’s funny, the first thing I did was throw the stuff I bought on the passenger seat. And then I proceeded to punch the guy. After the first punch he said, ‘OK, I’m sorry, I’m sorry.’ I was able to get some knees on him, as he was exiting out,” Williams told ESPN.

Not only was he able to save the day, but Williams was able to save his snacks as well.

Williams shared the security footage from the gas station, which happens to be a frequent stop for the UFC fighter. It’s right in between the gym and his house. The fighter is glad everything worked out, but a part of him wishes he could have gotten even more training during the heated exchange.

“Wish I would of hit him with the trip after the clinch work when I tossed him out of the whip and finish off with some ground and pound. But, I’ll settle with getting my car back,” Williams captioned the Instagram video of the security footage.

The thief couldn’t have picked a worse car.

The MMA fighter recently made it to the UFC. So far, he hasn’t seen a whole lot of success. He is currently 0-2, given he lost to both Nassourdine Imavov and Mickey Gall. However, the fighter has a 9-5 record in his overall MMA career.

In addition to his career in the MMA, Williams is a fierce advocate for those who have Type 1 diabetes. According to an interview with MMA Junkie, Williams was treated with adult mesenchymal endometrial stem cells. This is supposed to help his body properly maintain his blood sugar. It’s a newer procedure that can apparently help the pancreas release insulin.
