It appears the sting of a recent Super Bowl loss is beginning to fade for Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

When we last saw Mahomes we was leaving Raymond James Stadium after falling to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the big game. Being the competitor that he is, Mahomes will likely use the loss for motivation heading into the 2021 season.

For now, however, the All Pro quarterback has his sights on becoming a new father for the very first time. He and his Fiance Brittany Matthews will be welcoming their first child in a matter of days. As all first time expecting parents do, Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews glammed up for a new baby photo shoot. Matthews took to social media on Friday to share a few shots with fans and followers. Both Mahomes and Matthews are stunning in each of the photos and appear to be having a lot of fun too.

“My King,” she says of her future husband the post’s caption space.

The Instagram post took in more than 80,000 “likes” only an hour after going live. Hundreds of comments also rolled in, congratulating the happy couple and wishing them well in their first taste of parenthood.

Patrick Mahomes Preparing for Fatherhood

In a recent interview with The Drive, Mahomes conveys his excitement over becoming a father for the first time. The quarterback and his bride to be are expecting a little girl and the date is drawing ever closer. He says he is ready to take on the responsibilities of raising a child while quarterback one of the best teams in football.

“I am super excited about it,” he says. “It’s really going to be something special. I am excited for the journey of trying to find ways to better myself and become the best dad that I can be.”

Despite losing the Super Bowl, Mahomes had a fantastic 2020 season with an MVP-type year. He lead the Chiefs to a 14-2 record during the regular season. Completing more than 66 percent of his passes, he threw for 4,740 yards and 38 touchdowns to just six interceptions.
